Firstly, Faux Wood Blind is made from PVC composite that is more durable and sustainable than real wood. Therefore, it's a lot easier to maintain. Real wood requires special care and can't be cleaned with regular cleaning products. Whereas you can wipe faux wood slats with almost any type of cleaner. However, for everyday cleaning, we would recommend using a water damped cloth.
When it comes to price, Faux Wood Blinds are cheaper than Real Wood Blinds. If you're on a budget, it's a cost-effective whilst durable option. Real Wood slats have unique grain patterns and natural textures that won't be fully replicated by Faux Wood. Even though it is hard to tell the difference between those two blind types from even a short distance, Faux Wood Blinds will always have more similar looking slats.
When deciding on which type of blind to choose, think about the room type that you are redecorating. Faux Wood slats are 100% waterproof so they are perfect for high-moisture areas. Therefore, we would recommend using Faux Wood Blind in bathrooms and kitchens. Please note that whilst the slats are waterproof the internal mechanism is made of metal and can rust if exposed to prolonged moisture. Since Faux Wood Blind is easy to clean we would also recommend placing it in children's rooms. Real Wood Blind is suitable for living rooms and bedrooms.
